Arrival by plane
Arriving at Munich Airport you can either take a taxi or the public traffic. By means of public
traffic please take the airport train (S-Bahn) Line S1 or S8, exit at Marienplatz. Stay at the
same platform and change to Line S6 direction Starnberg/Tutzing. Please exit at Gauting.
Arrival by train
Using the railway “Die Bahn”, exit at Munich central station and enter S-Bahn Line 6 direction
Starnberg/Tutzing. Exit at Gauting.
As soon as you arrive at Gauting station, please call us by phone and we will pick you up.
If you arrive the day before, we will pick you up on the day of harvest between 9.00 – 10.00 a.m. (CET) at the hotel in case of bone marrow harvest. In case of PBSC please give us a phone call to arrange the transfer.
Bone marrow harvest
Harvest is finished in general until 11:00 a.m. (CET). If there should not be left enough time for
reaching the airport by means of public traffic systems, we will organize a rapid transfer by the
local fire brigade. Yet, please do not book a flight leaving Munich before 2.00 p.m. (CET).
Peripheral blood stem cell collection (PBSC)
In general, the first day´s apheresis is not finished before 2.00 p.m. (CET). Results of CD 34+
counting are available about one hour later. We will be able to give a reliable statement on the total number of CD34-cells collected at about 03.00 p.m (CET). Therefore, please do not book a flight leaving Munich Airport the same day before 06.00 p.m. (CET).
